Highlights of Charleston Guided Walking Tour

Overview
Our two hour Highlights of Charleston walking tour guides guests through the historic French Quarter and South of Broad neighborhoods of downtown Charleston. Along the way, your guide will describe the long history, unique culture, architecture, and geography of Charleston and the greater lowcountry area, painting a detailed picture of how Charleston's tumultuous past formed the city now beloved by travelers the world over. You'll view some of the city's oldest houses of worship, burial sites, theaters, the forts of Charleston harbor, and the antebellum mansions that look out across the waters of the Cooper and Ashley rivers, among many other historic and picturesque sites. Our guides also offer their expert advice on other activities, restaurants, and bars for guests to explore once they've finished their tour.

Palmer was a wonderful tour guide. She was very knowledgeable about Charlestonā€™s history and enthusiastic about showing us the sights. She answered every question thoroughly and patiently. She was willing to tailor the tour to our particular interests. The tour was a great way to start our Charleston vacation!

This is a very reasonable price tour that has a wealth of information. Fast paced but an easy walk, I have done several Charleston carriage tours and this was a nice change of pace with a different focus. Palmer was fun and very knowledgeable.

We toured Charleston with Bill in the spring of 2018. The tour was very informative, and he offered some deep dives (or as much as you can on a tour about town) into the culture and history of Charleston. Bill's thoughtful and honest approach to the history of this city and South Carolina in general made the experience very enjoyable. Travel delays resulted in a smaller tour than had been planned, and Bill took the time to get to know us and tailor the tour to our interests. He did an excellent job of nudging our teens into being an active participant of the tour, and made this one of the favorite walking tours we have done. I highly recommend doing this tour if you have the opportunity.
