Highlights of Charleston Guided Walking Tour

Overview
Our two hour Highlights of Charleston walking tour guides guests through the historic French Quarter and South of Broad neighborhoods of downtown Charleston. Along the way, your guide will describe the long history, unique culture, architecture, and geography of Charleston and the greater lowcountry area, painting a detailed picture of how Charleston's tumultuous past formed the city now beloved by travelers the world over. You'll view some of the city's oldest houses of worship, burial sites, theaters, the forts of Charleston harbor, and the antebellum mansions that look out across the waters of the Cooper and Ashley rivers, among many other historic and picturesque sites. Our guides also offer their expert advice on other activities, restaurants, and bars for guests to explore once they've finished their tour.

My wife & I really enjoyed our tour with Palmer, whose knowledge of Charleston & its lore makes for an exceptionally interesting two hours. Highly recommended!

We we able to get a "spot" on this walking tour last minute as our plans and weather converged to make this a possibility. We hadn't read a review... hadn't even seen a website as someone else had just told us to call Oyster Point and gave us the number. Our tour guide William Harris was FABULOUS !!!! Brilliant man and great teacher. We went away from the tour feeling as if we really learned about Charleston. Loved the way he taught the information. BTW - NOT for young children - you really have to want to learn about Charleston and it's role in history.

I am not one to write reviews, but this tour was the highlight of our trip to Charleston. Although we visit the city monthly, we finally learned the stories behind some of our favorite spots. Our guide was absolutely incredible -- theatrical, excited, and so knowledgeable about the city. Not only did we learn the facts, but also the fun tidbits. We did quite a bit of research before choosing a history tour, and we could not have been happier with our selection. I would HIGHLY recommend this tour to anyone looking to explore the city and its history.
