Highlights of Charleston Guided Walking Tour

Overview
Our two hour Highlights of Charleston walking tour guides guests through the historic French Quarter and South of Broad neighborhoods of downtown Charleston. Along the way, your guide will describe the long history, unique culture, architecture, and geography of Charleston and the greater lowcountry area, painting a detailed picture of how Charleston's tumultuous past formed the city now beloved by travelers the world over. You'll view some of the city's oldest houses of worship, burial sites, theaters, the forts of Charleston harbor, and the antebellum mansions that look out across the waters of the Cooper and Ashley rivers, among many other historic and picturesque sites. Our guides also offer their expert advice on other activities, restaurants, and bars for guests to explore once they've finished their tour.

My husband and I were so glad to have booked our walking tour with Oyster Point. Palmer is incredibly knowledgeable and friendly and made sure that we had a great time while also seeing and learning about some of the best sites in Charleston. The in-depth knowledge she shares is that of someone truly passionate about the history and culture of a city. Would recommend this walking tour to anyone interested in seeing some impressive sites and learning more about Charleston!

We were lucky enough to have the owner, William, perform the tour for us on January 18th. He offered an incredibly in-depth, insightful and intellectual feel to the entire tour. He challenged my prior thinking and made you see Charleston in all its historical significance. Iā€™d like to personally thank William for his time and I highly recommend this tour to understand how Charleston played such an active role in our country.

I am so thankful to Oyster Point Historic Walking Tours for the experience during our short trip to Charleston, SC. I was looking for several days for a tour guide that would offer a tour in the afternoon around 03:00 PM and glad to have found this company for it. It is the best thing to do in the afternoon, since during winter time it can be really cold to walk outside for over two hours. Most importantly, I would like to recognize Palmer Stowe for her work as a tour guide. She has an amazing personality with a wealth of knowledge from beginning to end. During the whole time, she engaged with everyone and provided information related to history, architecture, facts about Charleston and fun places to visit in the area during the entire two hours. I didn't even feel the two hour walk around Charleston and felt more than happy to learn about this amazing city. For the price that you pay, this is a must when you are in Charleston, SC and especially if this is your first time.
