This tour provided a detailed and interesting explanation of colonial to post civil war Charleston! We were lucky to have an awesome tour guide, Bill, who truly knew his history and did not sugarcoat our nation's atrocious history with slavery. He gave us a fantastic snapchat of what life would have been like in the past, and how there are still present day ramifications of events that happened hundreds of years ago! I would recommend this tour to anyone visiting Charleston interested in learning about history and southern culture, and who wants to experience a serious paradigm shift regarding our nation's history.

Our family decided to visit Charleston with only a couple of days to experience itā€™s southern charm. Bill provided not only a beautiful snapshot of this enchanting city, but also opened our eyes to itā€™s pivotal importance in our nationā€™s history. Bill was extremely knowledgeable, eloquent, and he expertly provided a unique perspective to this city which added immense value to our tour. We brought our children along (ages 11, 9, 2) and our school- aged children found many of the historical facts engaging. We appreciate Billā€™s patience and his willingness to involve our children in the experience. For a very fascinating lesson in history and architecture in addition to some great sightseeing this is a tour that will not disappoint.

If you want to know the unvarnished history of how & why Charleston was founded, grew & prospered this is the tour for you. Bill our guide knows his history, which he presented in an engaging manner as we walked the streets of old Charleston. We particularly liked how he did not sugarcoat the uglier truths of the city especially slavery. The 2 hr tour was an easy amble & a great way to learn about the city.
