Highlights of Charleston Guided Walking Tour

Overview
Our two hour Highlights of Charleston walking tour guides guests through the historic French Quarter and South of Broad neighborhoods of downtown Charleston. Along the way, your guide will describe the long history, unique culture, architecture, and geography of Charleston and the greater lowcountry area, painting a detailed picture of how Charleston's tumultuous past formed the city now beloved by travelers the world over. You'll view some of the city's oldest houses of worship, burial sites, theaters, the forts of Charleston harbor, and the antebellum mansions that look out across the waters of the Cooper and Ashley rivers, among many other historic and picturesque sites. Our guides also offer their expert advice on other activities, restaurants, and bars for guests to explore once they've finished their tour.

I live in the Charleston area and have been on many different walking tours. Bill Harris is an amazing tour guide, SO intelligent and funny too! This is by far the best tour I've ever been on. It was freezing that day but we didn't care and my family from out of town loved it and his perspective! Do yourself a favor and book this tour!!! Thanks Bill for making our weekend;)

Our tour guide, Palmer, was terrific. She knows more about Charleston that I had imagined a tour guide knowing and she did a lot of her own research so she could augment the Tour Company info with lost of ted bits that made this one of the most enjoyable walking tours I have experienced - - - except for the weather. It was sunny for 15 minutes, then clouds obliterated the sun and the wind kicked up. In spite of this however, I would highly recommend this. Locals call the Horse & Carriage Tours as a lot of BS & HS - the Oyster Point walking tour we took was just the opposite.

My fiancƩ and I read all about how great the historic walking tours are in Charleston and ours certainly lived up to expectations! William Harris was our guide. He is a wealth of information when it comes to the history of Charleston (and history in general!). He has a unique personality, a witty sense of humor, and he led the tour with great passion which really enhanced our experience. We covered many topics including major historical events and their impact on the city, the economic and geographical landscapes and how they influenced the growth of Charleston, and plenty of historical buildings and landmarks - all in under 2 hrs! I highly recommend taking this tour!!
