Highlights of Charleston Guided Walking Tour

Overview
Our two hour Highlights of Charleston walking tour guides guests through the historic French Quarter and South of Broad neighborhoods of downtown Charleston. Along the way, your guide will describe the long history, unique culture, architecture, and geography of Charleston and the greater lowcountry area, painting a detailed picture of how Charleston's tumultuous past formed the city now beloved by travelers the world over. You'll view some of the city's oldest houses of worship, burial sites, theaters, the forts of Charleston harbor, and the antebellum mansions that look out across the waters of the Cooper and Ashley rivers, among many other historic and picturesque sites. Our guides also offer their expert advice on other activities, restaurants, and bars for guests to explore once they've finished their tour.

I was in Charleston for a long weekend with a group of girlfriends for a bachelorette party and we wanted to do something historical to take in the rich history of Charleston and see the city on foot. We found Oyster Point Historic Walking Tours online and did some research and based on pricing and their terrific website, we chose this company. We were not disappointed. On the day of our tour, we were greeted by Bill, the owner of the tour company who actually led our tour himself. He is not only a history and linguistics expert but quite charming and very easy on the eye and filled with information about Charleston's rich history from having grown up here. The true package! For the next two plus hours, Bill led our group on a wonderful walking tour around the city and entertained us with his vast knowledge. We didn't want the day to end. He went above and beyond to ensure that he covered what we wanted to see and provided so much rich information about this beautiful city. I highly recommend Bill and Oyster Point. He was one of the true highlights of our trip!

All of the fabulous food we have eaten this week will fade from memory, we will never forget this tour. It is beyond my ability to describe how talented our tour guide, Bill, is at painting a comprehensive narrative of Charleston's history flecked with character and detail. It was fascinating to walk through the city with a competent historian who loves the city and has a penchant for elaborate story telling. He's simply the best guide I've ever had. A top 100 restaurant is a top 100 restaurant, this tour was truly special. Don't miss this.

Outstanding experience. Palmer - guide and owner - was knowledgeable, friendly, and had an amazing grasp of knowledge in all things Charleston. I highly recommend Oyster Point Tours. Forget the other tours: You simply will not get the same level of knowledge that Palmer delivers.
