Highlights of Charleston Guided Walking Tour

Overview
Our two hour Highlights of Charleston walking tour guides guests through the historic French Quarter and South of Broad neighborhoods of downtown Charleston. Along the way, your guide will describe the long history, unique culture, architecture, and geography of Charleston and the greater lowcountry area, painting a detailed picture of how Charleston's tumultuous past formed the city now beloved by travelers the world over. You'll view some of the city's oldest houses of worship, burial sites, theaters, the forts of Charleston harbor, and the antebellum mansions that look out across the waters of the Cooper and Ashley rivers, among many other historic and picturesque sites. Our guides also offer their expert advice on other activities, restaurants, and bars for guests to explore once they've finished their tour.

Loved the tour. Great historical perspective about Charleston. Bill knows his stuff and engages visitors in a way that helps them understand how Charleston came to shape history. I highly recommend this easy walking tour!

My party of 4 really enjoyed this tour. The commentary by Bill was intelligent, informative, mixed with humor and though provoking. This tour was several level above the carriage tours - a must while visiting Charleston!

We booked the early tour and were greeting by our tour guide, none other than Bill, the owner of Oyster Point Tours. More fortuitous for us, due to some no shows, it was just Bill, my wife, and I on the cooler morning tour. Bill has a passion for history, theology and teaching and it shows. Even though he has more facts, figures, names and dates than you can remember, through his interactive approach, Bill makes sure you grasp the big picture of the Why and How Charleston became what it is today. I think this is what we appreciated most, to walk away actually learning significant things that we will easily remember. He doesn't eschew the necessary information and significance of the slave trade and even let's you in on the real symbolism for the pineapple in Charleston. We will definitely return and refer.
