Highlights of Charleston Guided Walking Tour

Overview
Our two hour Highlights of Charleston walking tour guides guests through the historic French Quarter and South of Broad neighborhoods of downtown Charleston. Along the way, your guide will describe the long history, unique culture, architecture, and geography of Charleston and the greater lowcountry area, painting a detailed picture of how Charleston's tumultuous past formed the city now beloved by travelers the world over. You'll view some of the city's oldest houses of worship, burial sites, theaters, the forts of Charleston harbor, and the antebellum mansions that look out across the waters of the Cooper and Ashley rivers, among many other historic and picturesque sites. Our guides also offer their expert advice on other activities, restaurants, and bars for guests to explore once they've finished their tour.

The truth isn't important, it's the stories we tell and this tour told amazing stories of historic Charleston. Palmer is a joy to be around, don't miss out!

Bill's tour of Charleston was the most informative tour I have ever taken. While explaining the economic forces that led settlers to the region and describing the religious ideologies of those settlers, Bill managed to provide not only the history of Charleston - shaped by the riches resulting from rice, tobacco and indigo - but that of America, still dealing with the consequences of the slave industry that made Charleston's success possible. Bill conveyed these points while doing what tour guides usually do - pointing out architecture, landmarks and buildings and by providing numbers and dates. But, his isn't a typical tour, and you won't quickly forget what you learned. I highly recommend!

Bill was our tour guide; the way he framed the tour was unique and very engaging for those interested in history, religion and politics. He discusses the origins of Charleston as well as the history of slavery. He was fabulous and I highly recommend his tour. He is passionate and witty as well as full of insight and interesting stories. Thanks, Bill!
