Our two hour Highlights of Charleston walking tour guides guests through the historic French Quarter and South of Broad neighborhoods of downtown Charleston. Along the way, your guide will describe the long history, unique culture, architecture, and geography of Charleston and the greater lowcountry area, painting a detailed picture of how Charleston's tumultuous past formed the city now beloved by travelers the world over. You'll view some of the city's oldest houses of worship, burial sites, theaters, the forts of Charleston harbor, and the antebellum mansions that look out across the waters of the Cooper and Ashley rivers, among many other historic and picturesque sites. Our guide, Bill, made this historic tour one which included a rare look at history while enjoying some of the sites in Charleston. His knowledge of religion, economics and history made this a tour in which one could learn something rather than just see sites.

This is not your ordinary walking tour. This is a socioeconomic and religious history of the Charleston peninsula delivered by one of the most compelling lecturers I have witnessed. He is opinionated, funny, insightful and passionate. So refreshing to see a professional in this way. Bill, consider raising your prices and hitting a more premium offering. You deserve it. We came away raving about the two plus hours with newfound perspective on slavery and the history of this part of the south. Make this a part of your Charleston visit!

Our two hour walking tour with Oyster Point was excellent in all ways. Our guide Palmer was extremely knowledgable about the history of Charleston. She was fun and looked for shade at each stop when possible. This walking tour is an excellent way to learn or refresh your memory about historic Charleston.
