Highlights of Charleston Guided Walking Tour

Overview
Our two hour Highlights of Charleston walking tour guides guests through the historic French Quarter and South of Broad neighborhoods of downtown Charleston. Along the way, your guide will describe the long history, unique culture, architecture, and geography of Charleston and the greater lowcountry area, painting a detailed picture of how Charleston's tumultuous past formed the city now beloved by travelers the world over. You'll view some of the city's oldest houses of worship, burial sites, theaters, the forts of Charleston harbor, and the antebellum mansions that look out across the waters of the Cooper and Ashley rivers, among many other historic and picturesque sites. Our guides also offer their expert advice on other activities, restaurants, and bars for guests to explore once they've finished their tour.

This two mile 90" walking tour was quite comprehensive as well as entertaining. It covered history, architecture and culture of the historic district very well. The pace was just right. Ms. Palmer Stowe was excellent. She was enthusiastic, energetic and knowledgeable. She made the walk very interesting & fun. Great value.

My mother and I did the 9 am historical walking tour with Bill. There were only five people in our group which made the experience even better. Bill provided us with so much great information and I learned a lot. He engaged the group with questions and kept it conversational the whole time. We did this tour on our first day in Charleston and I was so glad we did. We had all the great context Bill gave us when visiting other sites and made them, subsequently, even more interesting. I highly recommend this tour. It was both my mom and I's favorite thing we did in Charleston. Tip: book a morning tour. It is hot later in the day!

Wow! My husband and I went on a walking tour really not expecting much. In fact he didn't even want to go. He said why would I want to spend money to have someone from Ohio tell me about Charleston? My hubby considers himself an armchair historian and was not in the mood to correct the guide as he put it. Well the joke was on him. Not only was our guide a local his ancestors go back to the founding of the city. After telling us that he followed up by saying that doesn't mean he knows any history. Hubby completely changed his attitude after that. I think he figured he could teach Mr Glover a thing or two. Didn't work out that way. Mr. Glover took him to school. We had a wonderful time. Mr Glover was funny, polite, smart as a whip and a true Southern gentleman. He loves his city and we felt he was genuinely honored to have us on his tour. He says he is a free lance guide so we don't know how to tell you how to find him but if you do don't waste time. Book a tour with him right away. He made our visit special. Thank you Mr. Glover we will be back next year and we have your number. Annie and Darrell Srinson
