Highlights of Charleston Guided Walking Tour

Overview
Our two hour Highlights of Charleston walking tour guides guests through the historic French Quarter and South of Broad neighborhoods of downtown Charleston. Along the way, your guide will describe the long history, unique culture, architecture, and geography of Charleston and the greater lowcountry area, painting a detailed picture of how Charleston's tumultuous past formed the city now beloved by travelers the world over. You'll view some of the city's oldest houses of worship, burial sites, theaters, the forts of Charleston harbor, and the antebellum mansions that look out across the waters of the Cooper and Ashley rivers, among many other historic and picturesque sites. Our guides also offer their expert advice on other activities, restaurants, and bars for guests to explore once they've finished their tour.

Palmer is an outstanding guide. Energetic & knowledgeable - she goes way beyond the scope of the tour with entertaining stories and details about Charleston and the events that have formed it. Full of charming energy. Very highly recommended. Thank you for an educating and entertaining couple of hours! I love Charleston even more.

Palmer did a great job of showing us the historical downtown area and was a wealth of knowledge. Her insights into Charleston history and present time was amazing and I felt this tour was a great way to get a glimpse into the rich history here. Answered all questions well and this two hour tour was time well spent!

We took the Charleston Highlights Tour, with Coach as our tour guide. We were a smaller group (eight) than usual, due to a late cancellation by a group of six. Coach was great. He was very knowledgeable, spoke frankly about slavery instead of glossing over the subject, and engaged the people on the tour by testing our knowledge of the topics he discussed. We learned the history of the city, the architecture, the various religions and cultures that made their mark through the centuries, and the city's ups and downs, all while walking through the most historic Charleston neighborhoods. Coach was also helpful with recommendations for places to eat and visit. It was all very relaxed and enjoyable, a great way to spend two hours.
