Highlights of Charleston Guided Walking Tour

Overview
Our two hour Highlights of Charleston walking tour guides guests through the historic French Quarter and South of Broad neighborhoods of downtown Charleston. Along the way, your guide will describe the long history, unique culture, architecture, and geography of Charleston and the greater lowcountry area, painting a detailed picture of how Charleston's tumultuous past formed the city now beloved by travelers the world over. You'll view some of the city's oldest houses of worship, burial sites, theaters, the forts of Charleston harbor, and the antebellum mansions that look out across the waters of the Cooper and Ashley rivers, among many other historic and picturesque sites. Our guides also offer their expert advice on other activities, restaurants, and bars for guests to explore once they've finished their tour.

We met our guide Coach at the US Customs house. We were exceptionally lucky because he was an amazing tour guide and we only had one other couple in the tour with us, so it felt like an incredibly personal tour of Charleston. I'd request him for your tour. He was extremely knowledgeable in all of the architectural styles and how they related to the history of Charleston. The tour was a gentle pace but heed their advice, a hat, comfortable shoes and plenty of water. If you are new to Charleston and want a good overview this is the place to start.

We bought was an almost three hour walking tour from Oyster Point Tours led by the owner Bill Harris. This was the highpoint of our trip. Heā€™s a historian with a passion for the history of Charleston and his non-stop talk was most engaging. If you want to know the unvarnished history of Charleston take a walk around town with Bill Harris. Wear comfortable shoes and be in good shape.

2 hours of enjoyable walking seeing all the beauty and charm of Charleston. We started out at the steps of the Charleston Custom House on E Bay St and walked up and down streets. Saw beautiful homes from the different eras of history. Visited a beautiful restored theatre that still brings in plays. Our, host, Coach, was very knowledgeable of the history of Charleston. Would definitely recommend this Tour Company to my friends. If visiting during the summer months I would definitely schedule the earliest time available.
