Highlights of Charleston Guided Walking Tour

Overview
Our two hour Highlights of Charleston walking tour guides guests through the historic French Quarter and South of Broad neighborhoods of downtown Charleston. Along the way, your guide will describe the long history, unique culture, architecture, and geography of Charleston and the greater lowcountry area, painting a detailed picture of how Charleston's tumultuous past formed the city now beloved by travelers the world over. You'll view some of the city's oldest houses of worship, burial sites, theaters, the forts of Charleston harbor, and the antebellum mansions that look out across the waters of the Cooper and Ashley rivers, among many other historic and picturesque sites. Our guides also offer their expert advice on other activities, restaurants, and bars for guests to explore once they've finished their tour.

Absolutely would recommend. One of the best walking tours we ever experienced. Bill was very knowledgeable about Charleston's economy and sociology of the 1800's.

Our private 4 person tour was conducted by Bill Harris - He was incredibly knowledgeable and we came away feeling as if we learned a lot about Charleston as well as our country - Being from the West Coast and Hawaii, we were not as informed about Southern History and the founding of our nation as we would should be - very eye opening. Bill is very passionate and warned us in the beginning he has been accused of being "professorial" - he does pack a lot in...It's not a cute Disney type tour, We enjoyed it very much while learning a lot - highly recommended! We took his tour on our first full day in Charleston in the morning which was perfect - along with the history lesson we got the lay of the land and made the rest of our stay better by knowing our way around.

We took the Charleston overview tour with Palmer. She did such a great job. She was easy to hear and follow, and she taught us so much about Charleston's history. We covered a lot of ground on this tour. Palmer was knowledgeable, funny, and engaging. She took a lot of time after the tour to answer questions and give recommendations for other sites, restaurants, etc. This was the favorite thing that we did while on vacation.
