Highlights of Charleston Guided Walking Tour

Overview
Our two hour Highlights of Charleston walking tour guides guests through the historic French Quarter and South of Broad neighborhoods of downtown Charleston. Along the way, your guide will describe the long history, unique culture, architecture, and geography of Charleston and the greater lowcountry area, painting a detailed picture of how Charleston's tumultuous past formed the city now beloved by travelers the world over. You'll view some of the city's oldest houses of worship, burial sites, theaters, the forts of Charleston harbor, and the antebellum mansions that look out across the waters of the Cooper and Ashley rivers, among many other historic and picturesque sites. Our guides also offer their expert advice on other activities, restaurants, and bars for guests to explore once they've finished their tour.

Palmer is an extremely energetic and enthusiastic guide. Her deep knowledge of Charleston and Southern History was evident in the tour. Wear your walking shoes cause Palmer keeps it moving.

Definitely the best tour we ever took of Charleston. Bill (owner) is a historian and he has an amazing way of teaching you about this beautiful city that helps you understand how the city has evolved from the 1700's forward. This is not a canned tour that only gives you dates and facts. Bill does a great job of connecting one time period to another so you understand how Charleston came to be. He also has a great sense of humor which is always appreciated. I cannot thank him enough for the care and concern he showed towards my 85 year old mom who was on the tour and offered her places to sit along the way. Don't waste your money on any other tour. Take this one.

I took OysterPoint's tour and was most fortunate I did. It turned out to be one of the best tours I ever took. Tour guide Bill used a rare blend of economics, history and humor to provide a streetside lecture into what made Charleston to be what it became, bringing all the facts together into a memorable analysis. I make it sound as if he is a lecturing professor of history. He actually is, but a most entertaining one, an opiniated - but always based on fact. This is the single one thing you should come to Charleston for, worth a visit to the city in and for itself.
