Highlights of Charleston Guided Walking Tour

Overview
Our two hour Highlights of Charleston walking tour guides guests through the historic French Quarter and South of Broad neighborhoods of downtown Charleston. Along the way, your guide will describe the long history, unique culture, architecture, and geography of Charleston and the greater lowcountry area, painting a detailed picture of how Charleston's tumultuous past formed the city now beloved by travelers the world over. You'll view some of the city's oldest houses of worship, burial sites, theaters, the forts of Charleston harbor, and the antebellum mansions that look out across the waters of the Cooper and Ashley rivers, among many other historic and picturesque sites. Our guides also offer their expert advice on other activities, restaurants, and bars for guests to explore once they've finished their tour.

I took my third walk with Oyster Point because I wanted to share the tour with another friend who hadn't been to Charleston. Palmer Stowe was my guide all three times and I was happy to see her again, like an old friend. She does a great tour: very engaging, knowledgeable and personable. I have heard the other guides with Oyster Point are equally professional. This is a perfect walking tour to get an overview of Charleston before you set out on your own.

Our 13 and 15 year olds loved the tour and were engaged the whole time by our great guide, William. William has a great love of history and Charleston and it shows throughout the tour He gave a great overview of Charleston at the beginning of the tour and then kept going back to those themes throughout the tour. With only 10 people in our group, everyone felt a part of it and participated.
