Highlights of Charleston Guided Walking Tour

Overview
Our two hour Highlights of Charleston walking tour guides guests through the historic French Quarter and South of Broad neighborhoods of downtown Charleston. Along the way, your guide will describe the long history, unique culture, architecture, and geography of Charleston and the greater lowcountry area, painting a detailed picture of how Charleston's tumultuous past formed the city now beloved by travelers the world over. You'll view some of the city's oldest houses of worship, burial sites, theaters, the forts of Charleston harbor, and the antebellum mansions that look out across the waters of the Cooper and Ashley rivers, among many other historic and picturesque sites. Our guides also offer their expert advice on other activities, restaurants, and bars for guests to explore once they've finished their tour.

Charleston sets a high bar for its walking tours and Bill delivers. He is informative, entertaining, and passionate about history and the city of Charleston. Bill not only teaches you the history of Charleston; he also teaches you how to look honestly and critically at history in general. In his intimate and witty way, Bill delivers the story behind the story of both historic and modern day Charleston. Would recommend this tour to anyone and everyone. A must!

We booked the "Highlights of Charleston" walking tour and greatly enjoyed it. Bill was a wealth of information and is very passionate about history and getting the facts right. He can answer almost any side or additional random questions about the area or the events that shaped Charleston. When you're like this are completely reliant on the guides, Bill's laid-back environment (with the occasional quips and advanced vocabulary throughout) and very knowledgeable spiel really made our quick Charleston trip a memorable one.

Bill Harris made the 2 1/2 walking tour in Charleston's historic neighborhood very interesting; to the point I forgot about my ailing knees. Bill has a great command of the English language, the history behind many of the old antebellum homes and historical facts and figures surround Charleston. He would elaborate on a question thrown at him by our party of 13. Well worth the $30 per person price. Highly recommend asking for Bill Harris. A true historian.
