Highlights of Charleston Guided Walking Tour

Overview
Our two hour Highlights of Charleston walking tour guides guests through the historic French Quarter and South of Broad neighborhoods of downtown Charleston. Along the way, your guide will describe the long history, unique culture, architecture, and geography of Charleston and the greater lowcountry area, painting a detailed picture of how Charleston's tumultuous past formed the city now beloved by travelers the world over. You'll view some of the city's oldest houses of worship, burial sites, theaters, the forts of Charleston harbor, and the antebellum mansions that look out across the waters of the Cooper and Ashley rivers, among many other historic and picturesque sites. Our guides also offer their expert advice on other activities, restaurants, and bars for guests to explore once they've finished their tour.

First time visit to Charleston for my wife and I and we followed the many TripAdvisor recommendations to book a walking tour at the beginning of our trip. If anything earlier reviews understate how great this tour was and the "secret sauce" in our opinion... Palmer Stowe. "High energy", "encyclopedic knowledge", "personable", "engaging", these adjectives just begin to describe the service Palmer Stowe provided. Like any historic location, Charleston has many layers, some not as nice as others. Palmer appropriately but unapologetically introduced us to it all. Run-don't walk, to sign up for this walking tour!

My fiance and I thoroughly enjoyed our historic walking tour with Palmer. The historical sites themselves were varied and interesting. Palmer did an incredible job of narrating. She was extremely knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and accommodating. After the tour, we felt like we had grasped a great deal of Charleston history and culture, and walked away with many "fun facts"! Palmer was also excellent in giving recommendations for restaurants and other destinations. We would definitely recommend this tour to anyone!

Bill was our tour guide, and we had such a great time! My husband is a history buff himself, and he was so happy to have someone as knowledgeable and personable to be our guide. On top of that, he took the time to tell us about other things we could do in Charleston, and that was before we'd even committed to going on this tour. That's the kind of customer service that I highly value. We would definitely go on another tour with Bill and Oyster Point Historic Walking Tours.
