Highlights of Charleston Guided Walking Tour

Overview
Our two hour Highlights of Charleston walking tour guides guests through the historic French Quarter and South of Broad neighborhoods of downtown Charleston. Along the way, your guide will describe the long history, unique culture, architecture, and geography of Charleston and the greater lowcountry area, painting a detailed picture of how Charleston's tumultuous past formed the city now beloved by travelers the world over. You'll view some of the city's oldest houses of worship, burial sites, theaters, the forts of Charleston harbor, and the antebellum mansions that look out across the waters of the Cooper and Ashley rivers, among many other historic and picturesque sites. Our guides also offer their expert advice on other activities, restaurants, and bars for guests to explore once they've finished their tour.

I've had lots of tours over the years, but Palmer was the best tour guide ever! She is knowledgeable, interesting, and puts the information in the context that makes you want to know more. Some tour guides remind me of high school classes -- even if parts are interesting, its too much information and feels like work to try to remember it. In other words, tours can feel like work. Not this one! The two hour walking tour was a great way to get to know Charleston. Don't miss it!

Bill did a very thorough job of describing the historic and economic origins of Charleston and how that informed the city today. He had a wealth of knowledge, not only of the history of Charleston, but of present day life in this city. Passionate tour guide and very good at what he does.

Went on an absolutely captivating "Highlights of Charleston" two-hour walking tour led by Bill. His extensive knowledge of the area's history and understanding of the economic forces in play at the time made this tour a fascinating experience. His passion for historical truth was inspiring... Eli Whitney did NOT invent the cotton gin! Would definitely take another tour with Oyster Point Walking Tours.
