Highlights of Charleston Guided Walking Tour

Overview
Our two hour Highlights of Charleston walking tour guides guests through the historic French Quarter and South of Broad neighborhoods of downtown Charleston. Along the way, your guide will describe the long history, unique culture, architecture, and geography of Charleston and the greater lowcountry area, painting a detailed picture of how Charleston's tumultuous past formed the city now beloved by travelers the world over. You'll view some of the city's oldest houses of worship, burial sites, theaters, the forts of Charleston harbor, and the antebellum mansions that look out across the waters of the Cooper and Ashley rivers, among many other historic and picturesque sites. Our guides also offer their expert advice on other activities, restaurants, and bars for guests to explore once they've finished their tour.

I really enjoyed the two hour walking tour of Charleston. Our guide Palmer was very good and knew a lot of history and facts. It takes a while to get used to her speed, she talks and walks fast. We visited many places and learned a lot about the city. Palmer gave use many tips for other tours and museums. I really recommend it and enjoyed it.

We took the walking tour with Palmer our first full day in Charleston, and it was a terrific way to get oriented to the city and learn a lot about it. Palmer is an energetic, knowledgeable guide who clearly loves Charleston and likes to share its stories. Before the tour, I already planned to visit the relatively new slave museum, but my wife was ambivalent. Palmer spent some time in front of the building telling us about the place of the building and museum in historic and modern Charleston, and she explained why it is something we should visit. We went back the next day to tour the museum, and both of us found it to be a very worthwhile, meaningful experience. Thanks, Palmer, for that and many other insights!
