Come join the crew aboard the Tammy Jane for a 2-hour educational and picturesque low-country experience as we take you out Shrimping! We invite you to learn about our healthy salt marsh environment, and introduce you to some of the sea creatures we'll safely pull up in our nets (in addition to shrimp!).

We will explore how various ecosystems intertwine to create the rich food web that provides food for our tables.

This is a unique opportunity for guests of all ages! If we do catch shrimp aboard an expedition the crew will package some up for guests to take home.

What To Expect

Vagabond Cruise

Aboard this two hour excursion you will explore how various ecosystems intertwine to create the rich food web that provides food for our tables.This is a unique opportunity for guests of all ages! If we do catch shrimp aboard an expedition the crew will package some up for guests to take home. All excursions depart from Harbour Town Yacht Basin within the Sea Pines Resort. There is a $9.00 per vehicle entry fee for the Sea Pines Resort that must be paid in cash. This gate pass is valid for the entire day, so make the most out of the Sea Pines Resort. Check-in for your Shrimp Trawl aboard the Tammy Jane will be at the Vagabond Cruise reservation office which is located just to the right of the Harbour Town Lighthouse. The first mate was extremely friendly & energetic! Although we only caught 2 dozen shrimp, the kids enjoyed holding the shrimp and seeing other species that were caught. They also enjoyed the dolphins. Unfortunately since We didn’t catch many shrimp, they were raffled between 3 families with only 1 family walking away with all the shrimp. May be more beneficial to enjoy this expedition in the late fall when the shrimp are more plentiful.

It was a good informational cruise where we learned a little about shrimping. During trawling there’s about 45min of down time so don’t expect much during that time. We didn’t catch like any shrimp but caught some other cool fish. Also saw quite a few dolphins which made it cool as well. Good but not great.

Fantastic Shrimp Trawling experience. We may have not been luckiy enough to get a good catch, but that is fishing. The crew were informative and made the trip memorable nonetheless. Nice view of sunset on the 7pm cruise, saw lots of dolphin and learned about the local areas. Great time, kids thought it was epic and looking forward to doing another trip with them the next time we return to HHI!
