Historic Old Louisville Walking Tour

Overview
The Historic Old Louisville Walking Tour is a guided tour of the heart of the Victorian Mansion district in Old Louisville. Designed by a prominent local architect and historian, this tour focuses on the history and architecture of this nationally recognized historic preservation district boasting the largest collection of Victorian Mansions in the United States. The tour begins in the comfortable, Frederick Law Olmsted designed Visitors Center in Central Park. You are guided through iconic St. James and Belgravia Courts, then proceed along South Fourth Street, Ormsby Avenue, and the grand boulevard Third Street, which was known as Millionaire's Row in the 1890s. Then you are led back to the starting point.
All proceeds from the Historic Old Louisville Walking Tour support the work of the Old Louisville Neighborhood Council, a nonprofit organization that serves as an advocate for the community and works for historic preservation.

we took the walking tour starting at the visitor center. the visitor center is a bit hard to find but watch for the small green signs, you have to park on the street and walk in to the park. walking tour was well worth the cost with lots of info about various homes. it seemed to us that every home was a bit different and interesting. we also included the Caldwell house tour which was also well worth it. Both where fantastic tours.

I thought the tour was fun and worthwhile. The tourguide, Kelly, was excited about the old mansions and traditional character of the area that she told me about (yes, I was the only person on the tour that day) and the hour passed by seemingly very quickly. I would recommend this tour for anyone staying in Louisville.

Our tour guide, Kelly, was great. Very knowledgeable, engaging and entertaining. We're very glad we spent our morning learning about old Louisville. It gave us a new perspective on the city!
