My wife and I have been traveling to the Big Island for about 18 years, and have done many of the popular activities. However, until our recent trip, we had never taken the Body Glove Historical Dinner Cruise to Kealakekua Bay. So, on this trip, we decided to take our son, daughter-in-law and 2 granddaughters on this dinner cruise. Boy, were we impressed. The cruise leaves from the downtown Kailua-Kona area and goes down to the Captain Cook monument at Kealakekua Bay. Everything about the cruise exceeded our expectations. To start with, while we have traveled to this area for many years, the historical guide on board made the cruise down (and close to the shore) a wonderful and enjoyable learning experience. We learned more about the history and historical culture of the area than we ever knew - it was great. Once we got to Kealakekua Bay, we anchored and had dinner. I had expected a relatively unexciting, bland, dull dinner, but I was absolutely wrong. The brisket, chicken, fish, and trimmings were all excellent, and the entire family, including the young girls, were impressed. And, the staff could not have been friendlier or more attentive in helping folks get their food and beverages to their seats and was there to take plates and glasses away as/when ready. In the past, I've taken dinner cruises that I thought were mediocre at best, but this is one I would definitely recommend. If you're looking for a really fun and informative dinner cruise to a beautiful setting with very good food and a great staff, this is it. And, in my opinion, it was a very good value. Give it a try.

All of us had a great time. The boat was nicely outfitted and all the staff was great, especially Captain Bob. Food was good and there was a cash bar. I would definitely recommend it for anyone, especially families with kids.

Aloha Landon R, Thanks for this review! For anyone reading this, this review is actually about our Deluxe Snorkel and Dolphin Watch which includes an awesome BBQ lunch, not to be confused with our Historical Lunch Cruise on Wednesdays. We definitely consider ourselves the most family friendly boat around. We have a generous child rate that extends to people up to the age of seventeen, and all keikis (children) under the age of six are free. Shop around-- you won't find that anywhere else!
