The Boat: New, spotless, comfortable. Good places to sit with excellent visibility. Nice bar and food-serving setup. Clean restrooms in sufficient number. The Crew: Friendly, helpful and attentive. The wait staff was amazing; zipping up and down the stairs on the rocking boat with trays of drinks. I have enough trouble with stairs even when not on a boat and without carrying drinks (externally and/or internally). The Entertainment: Hawai'i storyteller and historian Michaela Larsen gave a running commentary that was perfect mix of Hawaiian legends and modern and ancient Hawaiian history. The musician, Bula Akamu, had a nice voice, nice sound and played both Hawaiian and contemporary music. The Dinner: Nice fresh fruit appetizers along with cheese and crackers. The dinner itself was not elaborate, but it was well-prepared and tasty. The mains were pork, chicken and beef. I would have liked a fish choice (there was a salmon side dish). There was a nice variety of side dishes, and cheesecake for dessert. The Sunset: The sun went down right on schedule. The captain kept the boat oriented so everyone could get a good view. The Cost: This was a bit more expensive than other dinner cruises we have been on, but we we thought it was well worth it. There are discounts available. If you are a Costco member, they have a significant discount.

It was a fun laid back cruise that both my wife and I enjoyed. The food was ok. I highly recommend it for a family not so much as a group happening.

Took the historical dinner cruise. I’d done it before with Fair Wind as a fund raiser for KOC. The historical presentation was spot on. Not long winded, just enough. Mikela was the historian and she did a masterful job. The Mai Tai’s were delicious and refreshing. Dinner was a pleasant surprise. The salad was delicious and the kalua pig succulent. Dessert hit the right notes. I would definitely recommend the cruise.
