What To Expect

Black Hills National Forest

Once the balloon is ready, you’ll gently take to the skies for an approximate 1-hour flight over the Black Hills National Forest. If you are new to ballooning, you’ll be surprised at the silence and serenity you’ll find high above the treetops. It’s truly magical. Upon landing, the ground crew will pack the balloon while you and your pilot celebrate the flight with complimentary champagne, light snacks and a story about the origin of hot air ballooning. Flights depart at sunrise and are weather dependent and always at the discretion of your experienced pilot.

For a full refund, cancel at least 24 hours before the scheduled departure time.

My husband gave me this ride for my birthday and we did it together. The entire process start to finish was fascinating. It was quite an experience to see them set up and then blow up the balloons it's incredible how they inflate and prepare for flight. We flew with Don, a very experience and funny pilot. He explained how the balloon flies and prepared us for various landings. We felt we were in great hands. The flight was spectacular!! I live in the Black Hills, but have never seen it from this view...fantastic! The landing experience was equally enjoyable and interesting. We finished with a Champaign and cheese/cracker snack and a great story! Such a memorable start to a beautiful day in the Hills. We highly recommend this experience... Go for it!!!

The crew was very friendly and professional. Our pilot/guide Mike was great at what he did and he had a great sense of humor as well. The balloons were huge and beautiful and the flight across Custer was beautiful!
