What To Expect

Black Hills National Forest

Once the balloon is ready, you’ll gently take to the skies for an approximate 1-hour flight over the Black Hills National Forest. If you are new to ballooning, you’ll be surprised at the silence and serenity you’ll find high above the treetops. It’s truly magical. Upon landing, the ground crew will pack the balloon while you and your pilot celebrate the flight with complimentary champagne, light snacks and a story about the origin of hot air ballooning. Flights depart at sunrise and are weather dependent and always at the discretion of your experienced pilot.

For a full refund, cancel at least 24 hours before the scheduled departure time.

Fantastic morning with the profesional crew from Black Hills Ballons, lots of laughs, what a great way to start the day. The bubbly, mini muffins, cheese & crackers, coupled with a great yarn around the history of balloning was a nice touch after we landed.

From the booking experience down to the champagne toast at the end of this amazing flight, Black Hills Balloons was purely professional. Their helpful crew made this a super experience for our entire family. What to expect: Once in the air, the views are breathtaking and really give you an amazing lay of the land. The Black Hills are magnificent by land, but by air they are awe inspiring. Where else can you find 30 people smiling ear to ear at 5 am? Worth the investment in your trip to fly with Black Hills Balloons! Also, the pilots not only navigate the conditions safely, but they are witty and personable and even teach you a thing or two about aviation! This is a 10 out of 10 star experience!

Had lots of fun, the pilot was great. Nice views. The flight could have been longer. The crew were great and real friendly. Nice to have a snack afterwards. We'll be back. Very enjoyable.
