What To Expect

Black Hills National Forest

Once the balloon is ready, you’ll gently take to the skies for an approximate 1-hour flight over the Black Hills National Forest. If you are new to ballooning, you’ll be surprised at the silence and serenity you’ll find high above the treetops. It’s truly magical. Upon landing, the ground crew will pack the balloon while you and your pilot celebrate the flight with complimentary champagne, light snacks and a story about the origin of hot air ballooning. Flights depart at sunrise and are weather dependent and always at the discretion of your experienced pilot.

For a full refund, cancel at least 24 hours before the scheduled departure time.

Mike was an awesome pilot! The tour took us across the Valley outside of Custer and back to nearly where we launched from. His colleagues Damien and Don were great wingmen, as well. I am a student of history and the Champagne tradition and story about the first “balloon animals” in Versailles and the first manned flight in Paris was a nice touch! We would truly fly with them, again. They get five stars for the crew efforts, safety precautions and pleasant landing!

Could not have had a more perfect experience on our recent balloon trip! Mike was fabulous as our Aeronaut-in-Command (skilled, knowledgeable, and witty), the crew was engaging and hard-working (we didn't have to assist with anything!) and the conditions were perfect to afford us a trip across the state park - unbelievable views! Prepared for the chillier weather we encountered at such early hours, it was an unforgettable experience. Absolutely worth the early-morning wakeup. Perhaps a bit expensive for some budgets, but you won't regret it at all. We would recommend this once-in-a-lifetime experience to everyone!
