What To Expect

Black Hills National Forest

Once the balloon is ready, you’ll gently take to the skies for an approximate 1-hour flight over the Black Hills National Forest. If you are new to ballooning, you’ll be surprised at the silence and serenity you’ll find high above the treetops. It’s truly magical. Upon landing, the ground crew will pack the balloon while you and your pilot celebrate the flight with complimentary champagne, light snacks and a story about the origin of hot air ballooning. Flights depart at sunrise and are weather dependent and always at the discretion of your experienced pilot.

We booked this adventure a few weeks before arriving to Rapid City, and we had an incredible experience as we flew for the first time in the hot air balloon. The management kept us informed regarding the time and place of the flight, the pilot Damian was very informative but also funny, so if you had any fear he made you relax. At the end the toast with mimosas and some snacks was well done and they tell you about the history of hot air ballooning. We highly recommend you take this tour over the Black Hills with this company.
