What To Expect

Black Hills National Forest

Once the balloon is ready, you’ll gently take to the skies for an approximate 1-hour flight over the Black Hills National Forest. If you are new to ballooning, you’ll be surprised at the silence and serenity you’ll find high above the treetops. It’s truly magical. Upon landing, the ground crew will pack the balloon while you and your pilot celebrate the flight with complimentary champagne, light snacks and a story about the origin of hot air ballooning. Flights depart at sunrise and are weather dependent and always at the discretion of your experienced pilot.

For a full refund, cancel at least 24 hours before the scheduled departure time.

A hot air balloon ride has been at the top of my bucket list for years, and the experience with Black Hills Balloons did not disappoint!! From start to finish, it was nothing short of amazing! It was so fun to see up close and personal how the balloons are set-up, the ride itself was indescribable and the view was beautiful, and our pilot, Mike, provided no shortage of laughs. The champagne toast at the end was a nice touch (and delicious!...where can I find those little chocolate muffin things?!) and we were even treated to a magic show. All in all, you cannot go wrong with Black Hills Balloons...you can easily see that the pilots and crew love what they do! Such a fun and memorable adventure, thank you!!

Exhilarating experience. A lot of fun. Michael the pilot was skilled and entertaining with a great sense of humor and control.Safety was first and the crew was efficent and entertaining...especially the magician. Friendly passengers with great stories . A real treat. The highlight of our vacation.
