I say average but I think it was a little better than that. Firstly it is not a Hop On Hop Off it is a Hop On drive around Downtown Houston and you drive past 23 places of interest over 1.5 hours. Now for me I guess I got sort of lucky as it was raining so we had an enclosed bus and as a result our driver actually stopped and let us out at 3-4 points where applicable to allow us to take photos. Our tour guide was young and reasonably intuitive about Houston so that was OK. Our driver Ray was awesome his personality alone made up for any tour guide shortcomings. The visitor centre staff where you book your tickets were great and very helpful. They also have a cute little gift shop of all things typical Texas. If you go with the view of getting to understand the layout of Downtown then this is definitely for you. When the rain subsided I went walking and passed by some of the features we missed on the bus and took photos. Interestingly I was the only single on the bus and Ray went out of his way to ensure he took my photo against all the relevant stops we made which I really appreciated. All in all I felt it was a worthwhile spend.

The tour is a sightseeing drive around downtown with no opportunity to hop on and off. The bus stopped twice for photo opportunities only. I requested a map of the route when I paid and was told that none were available as they are being reprinted. Funny that, my wife was told the same thing over a week ago when she was passing through. The ā€˜double decker busā€™ with vantage views from the top deck was in fact a single decker, with netting over limiting views. Whilst the weather forecast correctly predicted rain throughout the day the first bus had open side and wet seats, changed half way through the tour to another single decker, fully enclosed. The tour served to orientate me to the city and principle points of interest but left me to return by Uber, since I was unable to ā€˜hop on hop offā€™. Initial commentary mediocre, improved when the driver took over. Overall a disappointing tour, failing to provide what is advertised. The trip should not be advertised as a ā€˜hop on, hop offā€™, but a sight seeing tour, and perhaps ones expectations would more alined to what is provided. Not particularly good value and not to be recommended.

This is Not a Hop on Hop Off Tour. Basically it is a straightforward sightseeing trip across Downtown Houston. The only stops were at traffic lights and back at the Houston Visitor Centre at the conclusion. This is false advertising. The tour was all over in under an hour. Not happy at all and would strongly advise wasting your money on this
