The boat has a lower enclosed deck, a middle deck which is a shaded but otherwise open are, and an open air upper deck with bench seating.
A fully stocked bar with alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages and a snack bar with light fare such as hot dogs & fresh popped popcorn is available on the lower main deck at your own expense.
Outside food and beverages are not allowed on board the boat
There is plenty of seating on the boat, both inside and on the upper deck, which consists mainly of bench-style seating; the main lower deck has chairs; seating is on a first-come first-served basis, so be sure to arrive early if you’d like to sit in a particular area of the boat

We enjoyed the scenic tour of the Hudson on the Rip Van Winkle. Staff was friendly, boat was clean, food and drink available were very good. Couldn’t hear the tour guide in the back of the boat downstairs though, speaker wasn’t working.

This is a very nice affordable and casual activity. Leaves from the historic town of Kingston, NY that was the first capital of the state. The town has plenty of history, shops and restaurants for a day trip from nearby cities. Perhaps a two hour drive from NYC with no traffic on weekends. This boat cruise took us out the main flow of the Hudson river from the port of Kingston that was built in the early days of Hudson river commerce and development. We were able to see historic mansions and and seminaries along Hudson on both sides. Scenery from the boat is something that we enjoyed very much. We also saw a bald eagle once nearly extinct but has returned to this area to a small extent. The crew of this boat works for free as volunteers and only takes tips home if the customers are so inclined to tip them. So thank you to the crew who made our accidental visit to this nice walkable historical town.

Such a great trip! Will definitely book again. I would love to have an option of different times, like a sunset cruise. Also would love to see soy milk for the coffee!
