The boat has a lower enclosed deck, a middle deck which is a shaded but otherwise open are, and an open air upper deck with bench seating.
A fully stocked bar with alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages and a snack bar with light fare such as hot dogs & fresh popped popcorn is available on the lower main deck at your own expense.
Outside food and beverages are not allowed on board the boat
There is plenty of seating on the boat, both inside and on the upper deck, which consists mainly of bench-style seating; the main lower deck has chairs; seating is on a first-come first-served basis, so be sure to arrive early if you’d like to sit in a particular area of the boat

We enjoyed seeing the beautiful fall foliage along the Hudson River this time of year. It was also interesting to learn the history.

We took the two-hour cruise down the Hudson River from Kingston, NY to Hyde Park. The weather was windy and the leaf-peeping was just past peak, but we had a wonderful boat ride. When the wind became too much we were able to seek relief inside the cabin, where there was a snack bar with hot chocolate, warm apple cider, and other libations and snack food. The information provided by the captain as we sailed past various historical places on the river was informative and interesting. The price pp is reasonable. This is the second time we've taken the cruise and will likely return in the future. Though both times have been for our October anniversary, I think we may take a cruise in the warmer weather for a little variety. I definitely recommend making a visit to and taking a cruise on the Rip Van Winkle.

A very nice, relaxing cruise. Good scenery with interesting narration. Easy to get to and adequate parking.
