We like to take this cruise when visitors come to visit us as it provides a great river view of the Hudson Valley. The boat always appears to be clean and well-maintained and the crew has always been courteous and helpful. That said I feel there are a few things that could be improved. Firstly, the seating for the cruise consists of metal chairs which after a couple of hours get uncomfortable. Also, we like to sit at the bow of the ship and at that spot the tour guide comments are extremely loud, almost too loud for conversations. Lastly, on this last trip, it seemed that the price of cocktails had risen significantly, to more than I thought was reasonable. As the rules of the boat are no outside food or drink, I think the food and drink offerings and pricing should be reconsidered.

Prior to visiting historical sites along the Hudson River we chose to take the scenic tour on the River. The excellent narration was supplemented by scripted real life characters from various eras describing their life experiences. This brought “life” to the tour and enhanced our other land tours nearby. The audio quality was excellent.

The cruise goes south only to Esopus & turns around...total travel time 90 minutes. Senior price - $35 pp. There is narration to point out some of the historic mansions, but most are too far away to appreciate & some history of the river. You get to see two lighthouses - the Roundout & the Esopus. I would suggest the - Pride of the Hudson Boat Tour - sailing from Newburgh, NY. Two hours & you see many more sights traveling south to Bear Mt. Bridge before you return. (Seniors - only $28.)
