Italian Market
With your guide leading the way, peruse the array of shops, many of Italian heritage. Wander past cheeses, chocolates, spices and olive oils that tempt your taste buds, and discover myriad produce stalls, as well as a kitchen store. Along the way, stop to talk to market vendors and hear fascinating tales about the development of South Philly over the decades. Your guide can help you find a bargain with special discounts. Continue on toward a variety of Mexican stores in an area where the boxer Rocky Balboa (famously played by Sylvester Stallone) ran through the streets on one of his training runs. Nearby, you’ll find a selection of Vietnamese, Cambodian and Chinese shops. Your 2-hour tour ends around noon — the perfect time to purchase a Philly cheesesteak for lunch!

It was my first time in Philadelphia and this tour was so neat! Chuck was the tour guide and he knew so much about the city and shared some his own stories which made it seem very personal. I was alone on this tour and Chuck made sure to make me feel very welcome. It was such a fun way to see the city and the samples we received down in the Italian Market were great! Cannot recommend enough. He was kind enough to recommend other places as we all parted ways. Awesome city. Awesome tour!

We did the tour with Chuck as our guide. He was great! Knowledgeable, genial, and a Philly native. See if you can request him if you do this tour. He seems to know everyone in the Market. We visited a butcher shop, and the owner showed us the ovens where everything was roasted as well as a ginormous freezer for the various meats. Visited a phenomenal cheese shop, an old time kitchen shop, and an olive oil shop. Again, Chuck pretty much new everyone. You also get a 10% discount on services. We were visiting from Seattle and this tour was the highlight of our five day stay. Well done!

Hey Andrew! Well. Said. And we couldn't have put it any better: Chuck is an excellent guide, and we're happy he made your Philly experience such a fun and interesting one. The Italian Market makes our mouth water, but next time you come back, try our Beyond the Cheesesteak tour or even a private tour with more foodie spots to experience!

Guide Josh S. was a great guide. So friendly, helpful and knowledgable. We even bumped into a well known local and Josh asked him to share - which he did. We were also guided to a few places ordinary tourists would never see. Best part was tasting little snacks at different quaint delis food places. Lovely and insightful. Thanks Josh.
