Overview

Floating past spectacular geological formations and views of the Sangre de Cristo mountain range as you run exciting Class II-III rapids. This trip is suitable for families, first timers or experienced rafters with great views and lots of adventure. You will run the best 10 miles of whitewater in Bighorn Sheep Canyon, groups or individuals looking to experience whitewater rafting in Colorado for the first time or tenth time. Great views and adventure! 2 to 3 hours on the water. This is the only trip that can start out of either of our locations.

Once you arrive at the the river you will be given specific a professional guide that will take you on an adventure of a life time! You will spend 2-2.5 hours on the water running great whitewater, potential Bighorn Sheep sightings and viewing amazing Colorado scenery.

The biggest negative was the weather (no one’s fault) but the river looked like chocolate milk, and it was raining. Our guide made a negative first impression (later improved) by being a little too much “drill instructor” over paddling. I’ve rafted before, and since my youngest was 11 we did Big Horn which is very tame, more like a float trip as compared to whitewater. We were the last raft with only 5 people including Sam our guide, so our raft was slower than the other rafts. She kept wanting is to paddle more to keep up with the others. My preference would be to be aggressive paddling whitewater, or leisurely float down the river. We got neither.

Ralph, Thank you for your review and we will work with Sam on her delivery of paddle commands. As far as paddling goes we do need to keep our rafts together for safety reasons and if one falls behind the do need to paddle to catch back up. Thanks again for your review

Although my husband and teens have been white water rafting, it was the first time for me and my 9 year old. We originally chose ART for the combo ATV tour but then decided to raft only and go closer to Colorado Springs. Had a great first time with Nate as our guide. Got to do some fun extras - bounced off a rock and spun through some rapids.

This is a fantastic family outing! We took our two boys, 12 & 14 years and it was their first time river rafting. The weather did not cooperate, it was drizzling and foggy, so I was a little concerned how fun it would be for the boys. But our guide, Ethan, was a rockstar and made the whole experience so much fun that we forgot about the weather! He let us try “surfing”, doing a 180, and more. All of us had such a blast! We can’t say enough good things about this company and it’s guides! We will definitely use them again. And if you are lucky enough to get Ethan, you are in for a treat!
