Overview

Floating past spectacular geological formations and views of the Sangre de Cristo mountain range as you run exciting Class II-III rapids. This trip is suitable for families, first timers or experienced rafters with great views and lots of adventure. You will run the best 10 miles of whitewater in Bighorn Sheep Canyon, groups or individuals looking to experience whitewater rafting in Colorado for the first time or tenth time. Great views and adventure! 2 to 3 hours on the water. This is the only trip that can start out of either of our locations.

Once you arrive at the the river you will be given specific a professional guide that will take you on an adventure of a life time! You will spend 2-2.5 hours on the water running great whitewater, potential Bighorn Sheep sightings and viewing amazing Colorado scenery.

Our party of five completed our trip on July 7th. Our guide was Danny, and he was fun to work with. We paddled most of the trip, and all felt it was well worth it. We stayed safe by following Danny's instructions, but had some intense moments. Most of us felt this adventure was one of our top 2 of our whole vacation. Arkansas River Tours was a great choice!

Our family took the 1/2 day Bighorn Sheep Canyon trip for the first time! I can't say enough great things about our FANTASTIC experience with our tour guide, ETHAN! We had such a BLAST!! Our family of four and a couple on their honeymoon made such a great group! From the beginning all the tour guides were so friendly and personable. In regards to safety, ART's well being and care of all their clients' was clearly a top priority. Ethan was such a cool guy to hang out with for a few hours and was very encouraging. He quickly taught us the basics of paddling and demonstrated the importance of working efficiently as a team, He even knew a bit about the river and told us some fun stories about the rock formations. We rode seamlessly through the different styles of rapids with Ethan's' knowledge and experience. He definitely allowed us to appreciate the intense excitement of the rivers' rapids while maintaining safety along the way. We took advantage of a 'safe spot' close to the raft to swim and cool off near the end of the course. Highly recommend this business, check them out!! We had a very memorable day. THANKYOU!!

We floated the half day bighorn sheep canyon trip and it was the highlight of our vacation! Our guide, Jonah, was great and we had a wonderful trip! Highly recommend and we will be returning!
