Overview

Floating past spectacular geological formations and views of the Sangre de Cristo mountain range as you run exciting Class II-III rapids. This trip is suitable for families, first timers or experienced rafters with great views and lots of adventure. You will run the best 10 miles of whitewater in Bighorn Sheep Canyon, groups or individuals looking to experience whitewater rafting in Colorado for the first time or tenth time. Great views and adventure! 2 to 3 hours on the water. This is the only trip that can start out of either of our locations.

Recommended dress code is no cotton. Anything synthetic such as swimwear, workout gear, and sandals/sneakers with a heel. No flip flops for crocks!

You will meet at our office and check in with our friendly office staff, meet your guide, get outfitted with the proper rafting equipment, go through and in depth safety orientation and then hop on a van or bus for a 25-30 drive to the river put int

Once you arrive at the the river you will be given specific a professional guide that will take you on an adventure of a life time! You will spend 2-2.5 hours on the water running great whitewater, potential Bighorn Sheep sightings and viewing amazing Colorado scenery.

This was my 8th rafting trip in Colorado since 1995. I’ve also done 3 in New Mexico in that time. This was by far the best rafting adventure I’ve had. I can’t recommend Arkansas River Tours (ART) enough. It starts with location. Just minutes outside Canon City with easy access off HHWY 50. Friendly staff greet you as you enter the clean facility. Rafts and equipment were the best I’ve been offered too. Best part of rafting with ART is the guides. They’re funny, energetic, and lead the rafters in silly chants to get everyone amped up. Our guide, Amanda, was awesome. The BEST guide I’ve had in ALL my trips. She’s funny - corny jokes and all. Amanda’s also a knowledgeable and skilled guide. Had a blast and my 17 year old son smiled the whole time. Thanks Amanda and ART. We will be back. Trust me, choose Arkansas River Tours. You will be stoked you did. Corey Pellét

Arkansas River Tours did an amazing job making us feel safe and comfortable during our rafting adventure. Zack was a great guide and we clear on his directions/coaching on when and how to paddle. We felt he was in control the entire time and also did a great job watching out for the other boats that were part of our tour. I highly recommend ART to anyone that is interested in white water rafting with children. If your a beekeeper, bring Zack some honey.

Great people to get our times set up to compliment our trip to Colorado. Arrived to find everything as planned. Our guide, Calvin, was super! We got to know everyone on our raft, had a great ride, and look forward to coming back again along with recommending it to our friends. You will love it!
