Totally worth it. I wasn't available to start this tour at 1pm that day, because I need to come back to LA in the early evening, so I just paid $10 extra to change the time of the tour to 10am the day before (yes it's a last-minute decision). To my surprise I got a private tour... So it was very very flexible. The tour guide is Mexican young guy and speaks good English. Although he doesn't l, but he is living there and is familiar with everything. Since I was the only traveler that morning, I was able to discuss what kind of sights I specifically want to spend time to visit, so it's good for taking photos. Before the tour starts, the tour guide will wait you at the US side of the border, and guide you to cross the customs (by walking); after the tour you'll need to cross the border back from Mexico to the US on your own, but generally it won't be a problem (personally I'm a foreign traveler, I mean, non-US citizen with valid student visa and I-20). Well... when you come back you need to wait in long line in front of the customs, but the line of US cars waiting to go to Mexico side is much longer;)

Had a great time in Tijuana. Everything was great starting with meeting up with Carlos who made us feel at ease. Very friendly and informative. We met outside of McDonald's the point of meeting and he walked us across the border to Tijuana. Once in Tijuana we met up with our tour guide Joselyn who was awesome. Really had a great time with husband and 2 kids each 6 and 7 years old. Would recommend to anyone wishing to get a glimpse of Tijuana.

Went on this tour with my 8 year old son and husband. This was the best way I can imagine to tour this area. The guides were friendly and knowledgeable. Visited places I would never have found. Learned about the culture and history of Tijuana which was very interesting. I can't think of a better way to experience this area. We toured, ate and shopped. Felt safe the entire time.
