"Introductory" mountain biking tour? We were a little surprised at how close to the edge of some canyons we were riding. The tour was from 7-11 am, which is great because it's not as hot. The day was overcast, which helped a lot. They provide you with Huppy Bars and other snacks, and air temperature water in a bottle on your bike. You are encouraged to bring extra water, and we did. Bring sunscreen. You get to keep their water bottle with their logo on it as a souvenir. We met in town, then got to the desert after a brief ride in their van. They guides are knowledgeable and friendly and got to know the participants on the way to the departure point. Carl, Dave, and Scott. We had an introduction, which included practice in the parking lot after a briefing. This was real mountain biking, not riding around on a regular bike with knobby tires. Keep space between riders because it's easy to run into the person in front if they stop, or fall over avoiding them. Our family of five all fell over multiple times, but no one was hurt. Everyone else fell, too, but no injuries. This is the real thing, and we would not have wanted anything else. At one point some of us walked our bikes along a canyon's rim, rather than risk going over the edge if we fell. Amazing scenery, landscapes, and a rabbit. Everyone on the tour enjoyed it. Some were sore, some had bruises, others had scrapes, but we would not have traded the experience. We would go on other tours with Rim if we return to Moab.
