Our family really enjoyed this luau. It was on the same property as our hotel where we stayed, so that was really neat. The grounds are beautiful and well maintained. We do think the food serving area could have been laid out a little better, at one point the line was getting really long at the first station, so an employee told us we could go in the opposite direction and start at the last food station...which ended up being a confusing ordeal. There's a reason you start with cold foods first..if you go the opposite direction like we were encouraged to do, you end up with hot food on the plate first and by the time you get through all of the food stations to the last one (the poke...aka cold foods), your hot food is cold also. So, my suggestion..go in the order that is meant to be. In general, I wish the food were one long (maybe spaced out) buffet, rather than 6-8 stations...which each ended up having long lines to stand in in between...making all your food get cold. BUT I will say that the food was excellent! Grab two drinks at a time from the bar too..then you won't have to make trips back and forth, since the bar is a ways from the seating area. Bar drinks could have been a little stronger imho. The luau itself was awesome! The entertainers were really great. We learned a lot about the island and the culture. We really enjoyed the whole show and would definitely book it again on our next visit!

We are kama’aina, meaning we live here. This used to be the best luau on Big Island and we have attended numerous times. But they have cut their show almost in half and we just left there tonight very disappointed. I asked the guys in the sound booth if it was intermission and they said no, that’s the end of the show…at 7 pm when it used to go until 8 pm. They don’t even march in the Royal Court anymore, like they used to and like it still says on their website. We bring our island visitors to this luau all the time but not anymore. Our family who came into town this week got a very poor luau experience tonight without explanation. We paid the same high price as before but did not get what we have come to expect. They are taking advantage of the majority of customers who are tourists and probably won’t know any better. Well, now you do. We suggest you instead go to the Feast & Fire luau at the Outrigger Hotel by Keahou Bay. Their show is fantastic compared to this new scaled-back version at Island Breeze.

The entertainment was top notch! The performers are all excellent and the show is very good. It provides a nice history of Hawaii and the Pacific region as a whole. The food was good and plentiful! There was a children section with Mac and cheese, French fries, and chicken tenders (adults could eat there too). No need to rush because they have already assigned your seats. I would highly recommend this luau, and would happily go again! Self parking is free with validation.
