loved this place! The concise intro movie and exhibit hall were very well done. The Indian village and English fort bring the early settler days to life. And the 3 original ship (replicas) made a huge impression on the conditions for transatlantic crossing. The 12 year old loved the ships and the 16 year old was mostly bored. I feel sorry for people who go to these places with their 5 and 7 year olds. But again, I loved it.

Visitors were not allowed to see most of the outdoor exhibits. You had to go only with a tour guide geared toward children, and could only go in one exhibit in the Native American village, two in the settlement, and one of the three ships. There were no demonstrations advertised, no blacksmith, no musket demo,. They charged full price, but had none of the things we came to see

Don’t bother. They wait until they charge you to tell you that you’re not allowed to walk around on your own. We were in a group of 75 which was unmanageable. Couldn’t hear anything. We tried to poke around the exhibit while the guide was mumbling and got yelled at.
