What To Expect

Joshua Tree National Park

Our shuttle van will take you to the city of Joshua Tree where we trade for our H-1 Military Hummer to complete your adventure. We climb to the top of a breathtaking overlook called Eureka Peak that will give you a stunning view of the valley below and a view that stretches all the way to Mexico.

Big Morongo Canyon Preserve

Nestled among the Little San Bernardino Mountains in the Sand to Snow National Monument, the desert oasis at Big Morongo Canyon is one of the 10 largest cottonwood and willow riparian habitats in California. The upstream end of the canyon lies in the Mojave Desert, while its downstream portion opens into the Colorado Desert. There are numerous trails to walk and hike, including a wheelchair-accessible boardwalk through the marsh and riparian habitats. At 31,000 acres with elevations ranging from 600 feet on the canyon floor to 3000 feet at the top of the ridge, this diverse landscape has been an important part of the Morongo Basin’s natural and cultural history for almost two billion years.

This is the fourth time I’ve done this tour and I love it. I’m an Aussie living in LA and I have lots of visitors. This trip one of my go to activities. I’ve even hosted by both Lewis and George as our guides on different occasions and they are both good standard. I can’t recommend this tour enough.

1000 Palms Oasis was spectacular. Hard to believe all the vegetation and huge palm trees in the middle of a desert. Louis was a great guide. Bring a coat for the Joshua tree. You go all the way to Eureka peak and it gets chilly . Luckily there were plenty of blankets and a few coats in the HUMMER. Great for couples or families.

Thanks for your great review and helpful tips about the cooler temperatures inside Joshua Tree. We climb up a mile high and it is no longer short sleeve and shorts friendly when the breeze kicks in.

Be sure you take the HUMMER ride. This is 'roughing it' in comfort. The guides are very knowledgeable, sharing many interesting facts and stories. I will be doing it again.
