Great half-day tour. Our driver/guide Jeff was awesome. We were in an enclosed Toyota Sequoia, which was good because it was pretty cold up in the Joshua Tree National Park. They also use open jeeps for the tour - that would have been too cold to enjoy, I think. Some serious off-roading over boulders going up the canyon to get to the park. Jeff took us for an extra extension of the tour to see some cool rock formations, so it was dark driving back down through the canyon which was challenging and a little scary. But I could tell he had done it many times before.

The tour guide Ben was terrific. He was so knowledgeable and we all learned a lot. Ben made some stops and he took pictures of us with the beautiful mountains behind us and, of course, in front of the Joshua Tree. A great time was had by all!!

Since the van protects the bikers for most of the downhill ride, most of the guided tour portion happens during the 20-30 min ride up. Jeff was very knowledgeable about the geological history of the area and also pretty funny. On the bike ride down, there are several interesting stops/photo ops. Jeff took our photos and gave us the story of each of the stops. He told us the next rally point at each stop. Very leisurely ride, about 18 miles. At one point we went 3 miles without pedaling. Bikes were in pretty good shape for the amount of use too. There was a nice little local surprise for us at the end of the tour, all in all we had a great time. We could tell that the guest experience is absolutely prioritized with Big Wheel Tours. Definitely recommended.
