Head out on this a small group tour into Joshua Tree National Park conducted on an exciting enclosed Hummer, SUV or touring Van. Gawk at the amazing contortions of rock that create an amazing landscape of vibrant geologically created colors against the bluest sky in California!

Your expert guide will illuminate your understanding about how this landscape was created and share the stories of the Indians and settlers who lived here.

See the most iconic and most photographed places in the park as well as stop at a viewpoint where you can see all the way to Mexico!

This tour will visit the most iconic locations in the park including it's legendary giant boulders, learn about the forces of the San Andreas Fault that jolt the landscape beneath Joshua Tree itself.

What To Expect

Joshua Tree National Park

We provide you an informative and entertaining tour of Joshua Tree with one of our professional geology guides. We will take some roads where a 4x4 is required where few people will ever see. We also take you to the most photographed places in the park and take a walk in an area where you can find Indian cave drawings and even an old dam left by cowboys long past.

Cap Rock Trail

Explore with your guide enormous rock formations exposed at the Earths surface that were produced by the very forces of the San Andreas Fault miles beneath. Here rocks seem to precariously balance upon one another in a fight between gravity and subterranean forces. A 30 minute optional guided walk is made here.

Intersection Rock

This iconic rock formation is one of the most popular places in the park for rock climbers. Gawk at the climbers as they challenge the perils of the 3rd dimension.

Excellent tour with informative guide! Weather you use there company or choose to drive the park on your own Joshua Tree National Park is a must see if you are passing through Indio/Palm Springs. My mother and I had a great holiday. Thank you for the memories. The only reason they did not receive 5 stars from me is because of a small miss communication. If you are wanting to hike the short mile to thousand palms oasis they do not do this on the tour but nearly visit the trees next to the parking lot. I was told we hike to the water and I think they meant the stream and not the oasis but plan to come back and do the small hike another day it is so peaceful we brought a small snack and sat in the shade for a wile admiring the view. I attached a picture at the end of the Joshua tree park photos of the oasis :) all in all well worth the money. If I have the opportunity to visit Palm Springs again I will definitely be using the company again for there open hummer tour, it looks fantastic as well, and ventures into a different part of Joshua tree I have not seen :)

We were so fortunate to be teamed up with Josh for our trip to Joshua Tree at sunset. We were a group of 8, ages 4 to 72 celebrating a 70th birthday and wedding anniversary. Josh not only knew the terrain well, but clearly loves it. He grew up exploring and cherishing the park and brings so much knowledge and expertise that he can answer any question you throw at him. We made it to Joshua Tree at sunset and on the way learned about the environment, the species that live there, the surrounding communities, and the artists who have been inspired by its beauty. It was THE way to see the park and I recommend to everyone.

My family and I were super excited about our Backroads Hummer Tour in Joshua Tree. As we were staying in the Joshua Tree area, we met up at the Frontier Cafe. The fun started the minute Jeff pulled up in the Hummer! He was engaging, personable, and put my family right at ease. The tour was a blast! We learned so much about the area... saw so many beautiful sights... and had a load of laughs with Jeff! Would definitely recommend this tour!
