Coastal Helicopters was very well organized. They met us outside the cruise ship, picked us up in a small passenger van. At their HQ at the Juneau airport, they fitted us all with boots suitable to walk on ice and had us watch a safety video. The helicopter ride was smooth and the view is beautiful. On the glacier, you have 20 minutes to walk around but they will keep an eye on you to make sure you don't wander far and heaven forbid fall into a crevasse. Highly recommend you bring nice cameras along with something to catch the freezing cold, pure glacier water to drink. Also highly recommend using Travel Guard or some other insurance agency to insure this trip, since there are no refunds. Definitely a once in a lifetime experience if you live in the desert, as we do!

It was fantastic!!! Our pilot was so informative and helpful with taking pictures and explaining things to us. I would give it a 10 star if that was possible. Loved every minute of it. Just wish we had more time to enjoy the splendor of Alaska. Absolutely would do it again and again.

This tour is truly an exceptional experience. We visited several glaciers during our stay in Alaska, but flying to and landing on one to walk around and explore the glacier up close is an unmatched experience. We saw several glacial pools and even a stream and waterfall at the landing site. The views from the helicopter were phenomenal both to and from the ice field.
