We had been to whale watching a couple of times before, but this time was by far the best. Safety was the first concern of Ray, our captain. He always reminded us to take caution when going to the front or the back of the boat, or when some choppy waves were heading our way. He also cared for the safety of the whales. Ray brought us to different locations to see single, pairs and even five humpback whales in a pod. Our naturalist, Megan, knew the whales very well, identifying them to us by their names. I took many pictures of them taking dives, and some were those of Flame's fluke. Later, I checked juneauflukes.org and indeed it was Flame! So exciting! Along the way, we also saw harbor seals, sea lions, and bald eagles. Definitely 3 hours exceptionally well spent!
