Overview

Our general tour! Meet our Dock Rep at your cruise ship dock and board our courtesy shuttle. Enjoy a scenic ride to the Auke Bay boat harbor and return (about 25 minutes each way). A complimentary stop at the Brotherhood Bridge for a view of the Mendenhall Glacier is available before or after each tour depending on that day's schedule and weather. Enjoy the difference of a personalized tour! About 4 hours and 15 minutes. This 4 hour and 15 minute tour includes approximately 1 hour of round trip transfer time, 3 hours of whale watching/sightseeing cruise, walking on the dock to the boat, and bathroom breaks.

We spent a great Sunday afternoon whale watching with Captain John and Naturalist Graci. We were 8 family members in the group of 12 and I have to believe all 12 of us walked away impressed by what we had seen. As Graci was telling us that we would probably see several Humpback Whales the excitement level went WAY up as Capt. John pulled us through a fast 180 turn and Graci told us we were now looking for a pod of Orcas. And quickly we saw 6 of them. They were in two family units of a mother and two calves each. We all had the chance to see them as close as the law allows and there were pictures galore. We then went back and saw at least seven Humpbacks which included two calves plus some sea lions. The time just flew past.

Russell and Nicole were awesome!! Got us quickly on a pod of Orca and a humpback whale. The whole experience was amazing from the complimentary shuttle to the whale watching. We loved that the tours are smaller than the large cruise ships excursions so we were able to see and do more than others. The captain and naturalist were both very knowledgeable, and with the small number of people on the boat it was very easy to chat and ask questions about everything. I would highly reccomend this excursion!!!

I loved this experience. Only 14 of us on the boat, so the captain could easily maneuver for the best view. We could stand on either the front or the back of the boat in addition to looking out the good-sized windows (that opened). There was a naturalist who was well informed about wildlife on the sea and on land. Nice people! Great trip!
