The mine tour was very educational well done and interesting. The gold panning however was a huge disappointment as they only allowed us maybe 10 minutes tops.

Most enjoyably, informative and great fun. The guides all know their stuff and the guy that takes you in the mine, mined it for 37 years! You get to see some of the tools actually working. Would recommend 👌 👍

What a great trip! We went on this experience in August '22 with our 3 kids between 4 and 11 years old. We were collected promptly and with good communication, so no stressing about getting there on time etc. The driver was extremely knowledgable about the local area and history, and kept us interested and entertained on the short journey to the gold mine. On arrival we toured the gold mine, with a tour guide with many years of hands-on experience - something we could see when he showed us how to work all the tools in a live demonstration. We then went down to where the old plant had been when the old mine was in action, we found out all about how it worked in practice with guides that had an excellent knowledge of the history of the site, and the local gold mining history. We had a demonstration of some of the equipment the plant would have used, which gave us real visual practical knowledge of the inner workings of the process. We then got to try our hand at gold panning, and found real gold! Our kids loved this part especially as they could physically see (and take home) some real flecks of gold. We had a great time, I was initially concerned the kids may get bored at times (as they can be hard to keep focussed!) but they were really interested and engaged in every aspect. The team made the experience very interactive, hands-on and visual. Cost-wise it was significantly cheaper than a lot of the alternative tours that were available, and I think we go more of an experience from it. I'd certainly recommendd the experience. Excellent value for money.
