We were lucky and got to see a lot of breaching orca whales as well as humpback whales! Megan and Captain Tom were excellent guides! Megan was very knowledgeable about wildlife in the area. The salmon bake was also fun with great food! This was one of the best highlights of our trip to Alaska!

Terry and Katie provided an excellent whale watching excursion. Both were very personable and knowledgable. We caught sight of only one whale during our trip, but being on other whale watch trips, I know it can be hit or miss. Nevertheless, seeing the tail of that humpback was thrilling! The views this day were truly spectacular. No rain, blue skies, mountain tops covered in snow surround by the lush rainforests of the islands. The boat we we rode on didnā€™t mess around either. It was fast and got us from spot to spot in a flash. The Salmon Bake was unexpectedly down home. Seated in a beautiful backwoods setting with folk music coming from Vicky, we entered a lush green paradise. The food was down home and tasty. The salmon bake was nice and smokey. Once you enjoyed you meal, you could take a short stroll down a path to a beautiful water fall were you could try your hand at panning for gold. I definitely would recommend this trip. Itā€™s quick with lots to see, plus it allows you lots of time for other things you may want to do in Juneau

Many thanks to Sara Ryan (naturalist) and Captain Terry for a memorable ā€œWhale Watching & Salmon Bake Combo Tourā€, May 23rd, 2018. It was so much fun and fulfilled a lifelong dream of ours to see Alaskan whales. From the beginning to the end of the tour, all went smoothly. When we exited the cruise ship, there was no hassle finding the shuttle that transported us to the tour boat dock. Lots of eagles to view while waiting at that dock. Easy boat boarding. The boat was enclosed with large windows for those who didnā€™t want to be outside in the cold, plus a backside open exterior deck for the more adventurous. Within 10 minutes in Auke Bay, one by one, whales began to appear. A dozen in total. There were also lots of sea lions, sea birds and bald eagles. Sara alerted us immediately when any whale or wildlife appeared so we could view and take photographs. Sara was very knowledgeable about wildlife and shared a great deal of information. She and Captain Terry were fun and made a great team. Since my phone camera didnā€™t take the best pictures, Sara was even kind enough to e-mail photos of the whales she had also taken that day using a telephoto camera. The Salmon Bake camp was also fun. The food was delicious with a wonderful live guitarist performing background music. Beautiful stream and waterfall. This tour started and ended on time. We were returned to the cruise ship hassle free and on time. We enjoyed and highly recommend this tour.
