This could become a really long post, but I'll try to keep it short as possible. So we went on a Princess Cruise in July with this as one of the excursions. We went on the boat with our family and extended family (we had a group) and the scenery was indescribable. We got out to our the area where the whales are at and we started to see a couple of humpbacked whales. They were awesome! We were close to them and got really great photography. As we were watching them, a pod of orcas came out of nowhere. Captain Terry Carter and Naturalist Sara Ryan were so excited because they said to see this pod traveling at the speed they were going was a very rare site to see āĀ they had not seen that before ā so the tour group was excited. We began to follow them and realized they were on the hunt and had two calves in two. We followed them for at least half an hour than suddenly the stopped and the water boiled and they began leaping out of the water with the calves following them. We then realized they were chasing a group of seals and had caught up to them. So we actually got to see a group of orcas hunting seal in the wild!!! It was an insane and enlightening all at once. This was very rare to see and to have the opportunity to see it was a blessing. Captain Terry Carter and Naturalist Sara Ryan were absolutely awesome. So then we head back to the camp for the Salmon Bake. First of all the salmon is grilled over an open fire and was absolutely delicious. The best part was this camp was by a stream and waterfall. So we are there by the stream eating, and we hear a splash and look over and a bald eagle literally dove down and pulled a salmon out of the stream and begins eating it. Right there, no more than 20 ft away. It was crazy! This was the best trip we have taken as a family by far.
