Old Koloa Town

From some of the oldest buildings in the state, to rich history of Hawaii’s first successful Sugar Plantation, discover how this main port of entry was a favorite amongst the whaling fleet.

Spouting Horn

One of the most photographed spots on Kauai, with ocean water spraying like a geyser up to 50 feet in the air.

Hanapepe Valley Lookout

A picturesque view of the lush tropical valley, a former Hawaiian taro farming community with some of the taro patches still being farmed today.

Russian Fort Elizabeth State Historical Park

The last Russian Fort on the Hawaiian Islands.

Waimea

This old seaport was the first landing site of European explorers. Today, it is home to the island’s last sugar plantation and located in the backyard of high-tech companies and small businesses.

Waimea Canyon State Park

Known as the Grand Canyon of the Pacific, this natural wonder was carved out by the Waimea River and the collapse of a volcano. The rich colors of the red soil and the lush greenery are a spectacular site to see.

We opted to take a tour van. I sat in the front seat and had an excellent time. The tour was interesting and got to eat at a mom and pops restaurant. The tour guide was very nice. I loved visiting volcano national park. Our guide took us down the volcano to where the volcanic flow met the ocean.

Pleasant trip. Our guide was fun. It was nice to see so many other things along the way as well. Kauai is still my favorite of the 5 major islands. It is certainly not as beautiful and huge as the Grand Canyon...but it stand up in its own right. The two waterfalls across the canyon were beautiful.

The stops are more for shopping than scenery. The guide was not very enthusiastic to introduce the places and the people.
